Mr. Christopher Adams, a graduate of Triton Regional
High School, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rowan University with a B.M. in
Music Education. During his time in college, he studied clarinet with the
legendary Anthony Gigliotti(deceased), former Principal Clarinetist of the
Philadelphia Orchestra and Rie Suzuki of the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra.
He was very active and served as President of the Rowan University Chapter
of the MENC.
Currently, Mr. Adams is the Instrumental Music Teacher
at the Eleanor Rush Intermediate School in Cinnaminson, NJ where he teaches
instruments to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade
students. Mr. Adams has previously served students as the vocal music
teacher at Lindenwold Middle School and instrumental music teacher at Timber
Creek High School, where he directed of Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band,
Marching Band, Chamber Ensembles, and the Indoor Percussion and Color Guard.
He has also instructed Marching Band in multiple capacities at Cinnaminson
HS, Highland HS, Triton HS, Pitman HS, Collingswood HS, Haddonfield HS, and
presently at West Deptford HS. Dedicated efforts with these groups have
resulted in numerous championships and awards in multiple venues including:
Tournament of Bands, Tournament Indoor Association, Mid-Atlantic Percussion
Society, Cavalcade of Bands, and USSBA.
In addition, he has conducted or played in the pit
orchestras for many musicals such as Beauty and the Beast, Brigadoon, The
King and I, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Little Shop of
Horrors, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed, and West Side Story.
He has also performed in the orchestras for the operas Suor Angelica, Amahl
and the Night Visitor, and The Magic Flute.
Mr. Adams is very active in the South Jersey Band and
Orchestra Directors’ Association. He has served as a manager to numerous
directors for both High School and Junior High School ensembles, has been
the High School Band Coordinator, and will be taking over as the Auditions
Chair for the next few years.
When not instructing Marching Band, Mr. Adams teaches
his private studio students, ranging from the beginner student through
college. Some of Mr. Adams’ students have made Hershey’s All-USA Band,
All-State Wind Ensemble, All-State Symphonic Band, South Jersey Wind
Ensemble, South Jersey Symphonic Band, Olympic Conference Honors Band, and
have performed solos for their schools and community.
Mr. Adams is very blessed to be married to his
wonderful, caring, and understanding wife, Colleen. They currently reside in
Gloucester Township with their two children Cadence Mae and Canon Nathaniel.
Mrs. Adams is also a teacher to Special Education students at Whitman
Elementary School in Washington Township. |
