West Deptford Band Parents General Meeting 1-05-09

·         Meeting called to order at 8:05 pm with the Pledge of Allegieance.

·         Meeting Minutes were approved by Maria and Rose.

·         Treasurer report was given by Rose.

o        Rose has student credits if you want to know what your student has in their account.  If you want to use the credits fill out the blue or yellow form and give to Rose.

·         Fundraisers

o        Next fundraiser start on 3/2/09 – It is the Kringles.  We will sell them for $12.  No one in this area is selling them.  The students will get a $5 profit in their student accounts for each Kringle.  The Kringles will be in before Easter.

o        Pasta and Pops is on 3/7/09 – the money for pasta and pops is used for our scholarship fund.  The admission fee for adults is $8 and for children is $6. 

§         Most of the food is donated.  We will need to have salads, desserts and drinks donated by the parents.  A signup sheet will go around at the next meeting.

§         We also need donations for baskets for the auction.  Shannon will be in charge of getting this together. 

§         The time for pops and pasta will be given at a later date.

§         8^th graders will be invited to Pops and Pasta.

o        Ad books kick off in April for the September cavalcade.  More information on that in the future.

·         Nominations for next year’s Executive Board

o        Maria will be moving out of the fund raising position.  If you want to be the fund raising chair, Maria has lots of information ready to give the next person.

o        One person is needed from the executive board and 2 general members are needed to form the nominating committee.

§         The nominating committee takes info on people who would like to run for offices and makes sure those that are nominated are eligible to run for office.

§         This committee will meet in March.

§         April is the vote.

§         May is the first meeting the new executive board members will  attend.

o        You may run for any office even if it is occupied.

·         Music Department trip

o        The trip is still on and will be from May27th through the 31^st.

o        The last payment is due March 12^th. 

·         Jazz lab will continue with Mr. Kershaw as the director.

·         There are no CD’s of the holiday concert.  There is a video and it may be able to be purchased.  Mr. Kershaw will see if that is a possibility.

·         Marching band pictures should be in any day.

·         West Deptford relays are in April.  Bonnie will get the exact date.  We will need volunteers to work the concession stand.

·         Soupy Island – try to get it for a picnic on May 23^rd.
