Band Parents General Meeting – 6/2/08

·         Meeting was called to order at 8:03 pm with the pledge of allegiance.

·         Maureen and Rose first and seconded the minutes.

·         Last general meeting until August.

·         Fund Raising report

o        Need Cavalcade checks and ads. 

o        Checks need to made out to WD Band Parents

o        Popcorn coming up in July. 3 containers of popcorn for $7.50. Concession stand will sell some as well.

o        Maria to send out the start and end for all fund raisers.

·         Elks parade – kids need to be at the school on Saturday at 9 am.  The buses leave at 10 am. Volunteer patents may ride bus if they want.

·         At Graduation – flowers will be sold along with water chips/popcorn.  We will consider selling candy.  Maria and Rose will work on an order to Heims for anything we need.  If working at graduations, please be there by 5 pm.

·         June 13^th is convocation – band to report at 6 pm

·         June 17^th is graduation – band to report at 5:30 pm.  Please wear concert attire.

·         Uniforms will be collected right after the parade.

·         THANKS for the picnic.  It was a success.  Everything was fantastic.

·         Band awards and scholarships will be announced at graduation.

·         The trip to Chicago – kids were the best.  No one sick, out of money etc. 

·         Band starts July 15^th.

·         Rose  and Maureen first and second to close meeting.

Per Mr. Kershaw – There was some discussion with the possibility of not allowing parents on trip next year.  Biggest issues are always with the parents and favoritism. There will be stronger wording on next year’s information packet.  Parents who think the music staff are their personal tour directors.
