Jason Koenig is a Hammonton High School alumnus. During his stint at
Hammonton, Jason won three championships, including two percussion awards at
championships, with the Hammonton Blue Devils marching band. Also, Jason
was a member of the Rowan Youth Orchestra under the direction of Warren
Gardner, and he was a member of the All South Jersey Orchestra, where he has
made it on snare, traps, and timpani.
Jason
has been under the private instruction of Ed Shea since his freshman year in
high school, and Ed Shea is one of the best percussionists on the east
coast. Jason has been playing in orchestra pits since high school, and some
of those include Bye Bye Birdie, South Pacific, Footloose, and Joseph and
the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In 2006, Jason was a percussion
instructor for the Pennsville Memorial High School marching band. Their
percussion scored a 188 out of 200 and won best percussion at championships.
Currently, Jason is studying to become a history teacher at the Richard
Stockton College of New Jersey. Jason is also a die hard Dallas Cowboys and
Atlanta Braves fan. So show him the respect that he deserves,
considering the fact that his teams know how to win, unlike the Eagles and
Phillies.
