Jimmy is a graduate of
Triton Regional High School
and is currently enrolled at Rowan University. He is at Rowan going for his
bachelors in music education with a percussion concentration.
While at Triton Jimmy was part of the marching band
percussion section winning 3 group 1 TOB Chapter Championships and the ACC
Group 1 Championship in 2001. The percussion section also won the ACC Group
1 High Percussion award in 2002, 2003, and 2004. He was also part of the
indoor program all 4 years. They won the TIA Chapter Championship all for
years and were TIA Concert Percussion Gold Medalists in 2002, 2003, and
2004.
Since graduating high school Jimmy has taught the marching
band and indoor percussion at
Sterling High School. He
has also been apart of many different ensembles. He has played in the Rowan
University Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. He’s also been in the Rowan
University Percussion Ensemble. At Rowan he was taught by Dean Witten
(percussion professor and active percussionist on Broadway and an active
clinician). In 2006 and 2008 Jimmy was part of United Percussion, playing
marimba, competing in the Independent Open Class and the Independent World
Class both years being finalists at the WGI World Championships in Dayton,
OH. This past summer (2008) was Jimmy’s greatest achievement. He was part
of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps front ensemble playing marimba.
In 2008 Crown won there first DCI regional in the history of the corps.
They placed 4th overall and 4th in percussion at the
DCI World Championships with Crowns highest score ever. It was a great
experience being taught by so many amazing instructors and being with a
group of friends he will have for life. He will never forget this experience
and is proud to be part of such a historic year for Carolina Crown.
Jimmy currently lives in
Bellmawr, NJ. He plans to
audition for last years WGI Independent World Gold Medalists Rhythm X Indoor
Percussion from Columbus, Ohio for the indoor season. He is proud to be
apart of the West Deptford team for the 2008 season and hopes he can help
bring the percussion section to new levels and have their best season yet. |
