And we are off... The WDMB had their first summer football game and the band looked and sounded great. We are always proud to support the WD football team as much as possible!

THANK YOU to all of our amazing band parents and alumni band parents who came for the return of “normal” WD football and work in our concession stand. Thank you for your never ending support of these kids and our program. You are a very special group of people. Come join the fun! We are always looking for a few extra hands to help out and have a great time together!

As we prepare for 2021-22 school year to start, the WDMB is ramping into full speed. This week we will have uniform fittings and continue developing our field show.

UNIFORM FITTINGS (musicians)
We will have uniform fittings this week on Tuesday and Wednesday 5p-6p.  We will be fitting jackets on Tuesday and pants on Wednesday. We need help hemming pants on Wednesday! The only alterations we make on our uniforms are on the pant lengths. If you are skilled or know someone who is skilled with a needle and thread, please come out this Wednesday.

This upcoming Saturday the WD football team will be heading to Woodrow Wilson HS. The WDMB will not be attending this game for a couple of reasons. First, the holiday weekend has many band families traveling and our numbers are greatly impacted. It is not fair to pressure the remaining group to "fill in the blanks."  Second, the stadium at Woodrow Wilson HS has very limited visitor's side seating and there is basically no where adequate for the band to setup. We look forward to cheering on our WD football team next week at Haddonfield HS.

​Welcome to Week #1 and the first of our weekly updates! It is hard to believe that football is starting a full 2 WEEKS before the start of school, but the WDMB will be there to cheer them on!
 
BAND CAMP 2021
Band camp was a huge success! The WDMB was able to bring this 30+ year tradition back to our membership and we are glad we did. Each year band camp at Camp Ramblewood is a game changer for our band. They really get to know one another on a whole new level which allows them to work together better. Even though our stay was 1 ½ days shorter than normal memories were made and the group progressed forward.
 
The WDMB wants to send a huge THANK YOU out to the alumni band parents who volunteered to drive our equipment trucks to and from Band Camp! Your generosity is appreciated!

THIS WEEK
This week we have a couple of things going on. Mini-Camp & Football Game #1
 
Mini Camp – Rehearsals this Tuesday & Wednesday will be 4p-9p. We are calling these extended practices “Mini-Camp” as they will allow us to make up some time we lost due to a shorter band camp. This will also allow us to onboard the few students who missed band camp this year. There will be a 30min “snack/dinner” break from 6pm-6:30pm on each day.
 
WD Football returns this week. Due to the August temps, the WDMB will not be wearing traditional uniform until September. We will instead be wearing our Alternative Uniform. Our general rule is if the temps are above 80 at kickoff we will wear our alternative uniforms. Our alternative uniforms are what we wore for the Memorial Day & Elks Parades and detailed below.

• Uniform Cap - Provided
• Solid Black Pants (w/belt loops & belt)
• Solid Black Band Shoes & Black Socks.

Color Guard:

• Uniform Shirt - Provided
• Solid Black Shorts (w/belt loops & respectable length – No short-shorts or cut-offs!!!)
• Solid White Shoes/Sneakers.
• White Socks.

 
Uniform shirts will be distributed at rehearsals this week.
