Hello WD Band & Choir Family,
It is with great disappointment that we are announcing that this year’s band & choir performance tour of Chicago, Illinois is cancelled. It is virtually impossible to predict where we will be in 2 months from now. What we do know is that these next few weeks were critical to finalizing all trip reservations. We feel it would be immensely irresponsible to hope for a reality that we cannot confirm. Please accept our difficult decision and count on us to resolve all surrounding issues.
It is our intent to postpone our Chicago trip to 2021. We strongly believe that these trips provide an amazing growth experience to our students. We value these experiences and have seen firsthand their impact on building strong, independent leaders.
SENIORS: We are currently considering allowing current seniors to participate in 2021 pending school district approval. You will always be family and if we can offer this experience to seniors, we will.
PAYMENTS/REFUNDS: At this point we are beginning to contact our venues and agencies. Many deposits have already been paid out and it will take us some time to work through our options with each booking. It is our optimistic hope that we can obtain all monies paid out. Please be patient with us as we work through this. Once all deposits are accounted for, trip participants will be given the option of a refund for payments received or to have their current balance applied to next year’s trip. Again, we ask for your patience as we firm up the balance sheet.
On behalf of Mr. Yerkes and myself, we want to thank you for supporting these amazing opportunities. We consider them vital to the educational experiences of the WDHS music department and look forward to future planning once our national emergency is resolved.
