One of the hardest parts of growing up is believing in yourself. We are often surrounded with challenges and situations that constantly remind us that we are not good enough. I am sure that you can think of a few things that fit that description. I am here to tell you that you are worthy. You are excellent. You are the very best of what our activity requires. You are more than good enough.
This season I have seen so many amazing things. I’ve seen shy students become confident. I’ve seen students laugh and make new friends. I’ve seen students achieve new skills. I’ve seen students feel proud of their accomplishments. I’ve seen students learn how to get through a tough day. I’ve seen students work through stressful situations and performance frustrations. I’ve seen students stand tall. I’ve seen students lift each other up. I’ve seen tired students push through the grind of long rehearsals. I’ve seen students show newly found determination and grit. I’ve seen students grow into leaders.
As we enter into our final events, you need to believe.
- Believe that you are good enough.
- Believe that you are important.
- Believe that you are capable of great accomplishments.
- Believe that you are worthy of standing with the best.
- Believe that nothing can stop you from achieving your goals.
The WDMB is a special group of amazing people. Every season is a journey of growth and discovery. Everyone discovers that they are capable of more than they thought possible. Everyone grows and contributes to our collective success. This is what I wish for you. I want you to know that you are good enough.
This weekend, you will take the field one more time. Decide now and believe that the best is yet to come. Like the hero portraits on the field, stand tall. Stand full of confidence and pride. Come together for each other, and let nothing diminish our collective strength.
I believe in you, and I can’t wait to watch you perform.
Your #1 fan,
Mr. Kershaw
