First, I hope everyone enjoyed the well deserved break this past week!
WDMB - 2014 Tournament of Bands, Group III, Atlantic Coast Champions!!!!!
WHAT A SEASON!!! Every week we saw scores that came down to a tenth to Southern Regional or a couple of tenths to WD. And finally.... a half of a tenth! Each of the top three bands won two of the six caption awards. WD just hung tough and when the dust settled took the title. Our fifth title!
There are so many thank yous to pass around...
=> Thank you to Mr. Rumaker, our shop teacher, and his students for making the 33 snowflakes for our props. They looked awesome!
=> Thank you to our band dads and alumni band dads who came out to add the snowflakes onto our props.
=> Thank you to John Phillips for picking up and dropping off our rental trucks.
=> Thank you to John Phillips for driving our rental truck.
=> Thank you to Ed & Kathi Kopec for getting the snowflakes we added onto the uniforms for finals.
=> Thank you to everyone who went to Hershey to cheer us on! We sold a record 145 tickets!!!
=> Thank you to the students who came as prop handlers. You guys were a HUGE help!
=> Thank you to WDBP Board for organizing the parents bus and tailgate dinner in Hershey.
Looking ahead, there are still 4 possible football games and the West Cape May Christmas parade before this season is complete. While our largest focus is usually on our TOB competitions, we must now keep up our energy and attendance until the end. Students who do not meet these final performance obligations will not receive any band awards/honors. This is not the time for students to disappear. The full band has obligations and just because they are “only football games” students are not to schedule other events or create conflicts. Every performance is important and every member is obligated to be in attendance!
This week we have only one rehearsal on Wednesday 6pm-8pm. The band will be making audio recordings of the field show. Friday we have playoff Football at Glassboro HS. FYI - For anyone going to the game, Rowan University will be hosting William Patterson Univ. simultaneously right across the street which means parking will be difficult by game time.

9:30pm - Game ends/Load
9:45pm - Depart for WDHS
10:15pm - Arrive at WDHS/Unload
10:30pm - Dismissed
