2015 Miss America Parade - WDMB
2015 CG Costume Hello WDMB Family,
I can't remember a busier week one!
=> Debut Halftime Performance!
=> Miss America Parade Performance!
=> BP's at West Deptford Day!
I could not be happier with our first performance at the FB Game. The band looked and sounded strong and confident. We received a huge reaction from the crowd which tells us that we are the right track. The Miss America Parade was a little wetter than we would have liked, but again our marching eagles stood tall and proud and performed their best and represented WDHS very well. We want to specially thank all of our alumni who came back to march the parade! It was great to see you! Thank you to Mr. Arseneau for sharing his "Eagle Eye" view of the band on the parade route: VIDEO LINK And finally our band parents had a great setup for West Deptford Day! Thank you to all who came out to support us, assist us and cheer for us!
Moving forward - We have our monthly band parents meeting tonight (Monday) at 8pm in the HS band room. This meeting is important as we discuss our upcoming season and home show.
This week we will finish learning the drill to the show. The final segment of the show uses Amazing Grace as its central theme. We will also be working to complete the musical score to the fourth part of our show which is centered around Mozart's Lacrimosa. We are also expecting the delivery our of color guard's uniform costumes! This is always such an exciting time of the season as we begin to see everything develop and come together.
We have one performance this week - FB @Lindenwold. We are the visiting team at this week's game which means we perform our field show BEFORE the game at 6:40pm. Again, we will be using our alternate uniform this week for Friday's FB performance.
Band performance attire this Friday...
WDMB shirt (provided), Black Cap (provided)
Solid black pants with belt, Solid Black shoes, Black socks.
Color Guard performance attire this Friday...
WDMB shirt (provided), Solid black shorts with respectable length (no short-shorts or cut-offs please!),
Solid white shoes/sneakers, White socks.
Band shoes: All band members who still need shoes will need to provide Mr. Kershaw their size by Tuesday. Most students ordered them in the spring, but we will be putting in another order this week. Shoes are $35. Please make checks payable to "West Deptford High School"
We will be ordering color guard shoes this week as well. Shoes will be $30.
